Workshops & Classes

How can I make my hospital room more like a magical labor land, and less like a hospital room? Can you help me create a concise birth plan that my care provider or labor and delivery nurse will read and enjoy? Why is my baby making this face at me? And why won’t she stop crying? What are some alternative positions for pushing? How can I best support my partner during labor, when I’m a little bit scared myself? And what the heck is a double hip squeeze? We know you’ve got questions, and we’d love to give you answers. We offer a variety of childbirth and baby care workshops, classes and events for you, your partner and family, both in person and virtual. Our online childbirth education classes are live, not pre-recorded, which means you have the ability to answer questions and get answers in real time!

Childbirth With A Twist:  In person classes and virtual options!

Think online childbirth education is boring and useless? Think again, because wow do we have fun!

Be informed of your options, get educated on birth, understand what your body is doing, learn how to cope, and have a lot of fun and laughs all while doing it either from the comfort of your couch OR in our cozy office and classroom space near the Greensboro airport. If you are taking a virtual class, then class is taught LIVE, so you can ask questions and receive answers in real-time from an experienced doula and childbirth educator.  This virtual childbirth education class will meet for five instruction times online (See dates and registration links below and keep scrolling down for in person classes).  Although we are based in Greensboro, NC, this virtual class is open to anyone in the world.  In this class, we cover:

  • The stages of labor
  • Recognizing the stages and phases of labor
  • Emotional signposts of normal labor
  • Comfort measures for labor (including using a birth ball, using water for labor, massage, positions, breathing, etc…)
  • Building confidence in your birth partner
  • What to pack for the birth center or hospital
  • Common interventions and pain relief choices
  • Positions for pushing, and more!

If you are birthing at Novant Health in Winston-Salem, Wake Forest Baptist (Atrium) Heath in Winston-Salem, Cone Health in Greensboro, or Natural Beginnings Birth Center in Statesville, we are also able to add specific information relative to each of those hospitals/birth centers.
